Handmade Pottery
By Lorna Coleman
Every piece created by Lorna Coleman begins at the wheel. This is true hand-thrown pottery, where no two pieces are exactly alike. Subtle variations in form and glaze make each item uniquely yours.
Lorna works from her pottery wheel, forming functional art designed to be used and loved every day.

Just ten minutes from Caledonia, Missouri, nestled in the quiet countryside, you’ll find the studio of Lorna Coleman — a potter with more than a decade of experience at the wheel.
Lorna has been hand-throwing pottery, shaping clay into functional pieces meant to be used, loved, and passed down.
She has also taught pottery in the past, sharing her knowledge of wheel-throwing techniques and helping others discover the joy of working with clay. That depth of experience is evident in the balance, durability, and thoughtful design of each piece she makes. Lorna’s work reflects both artistry and practicality — pottery designed for real homes and real life.

Why Hand-thrown Matters

Hand-thrown pottery carries the mark of the maker. You can feel the curve shaped by the wheel, the weight balanced by hand, and the glaze layered with care. It’s a connection to tradition — a slower, more intentional way of creating.
When you choose Lorna’s pottery, you’re choosing:
-
Handmade over mass-produced
-
Craftsmanship over factory molds
-
Character over uniformity
